In Polar Global we believe that water is better for transporting heat. Why? See below:
Ecology
We all have some aspect of social responsibility. Part of the social responsibility for us is to do our part to protect the planet.
Safety
Common refrigerants are toxic, flammable, or both. Water is not only non-toxic but is essential to all life on Earth.
Efficiency
In a refrigerant-based system, as much as 30% of the energy consumption of the system is used to transport the refrigerant (along with the lubricating oils) to the terminal unit.
Compare that to a water-based system, and less than 2% of the energy consumption is used to transport the water.
Installation
Most water-based systems can be installed without any special licenses and are based on installation techniques that have been taught for generations.
Flexibility
Whether is a forced-air system, radiant system, convection; water-based systems have a solution. What is even better is that you can mix and match different components as they all use the same fluid and can all work together.
